Eventi > Venice and Tourism | Presentation of the VSF Report “HISTORY OF VENICE’S RESILIENCE”
Venice has a thousand-year history of resilience, defined by a constant effort to balance its unique land-and-sea territory, and by daily calls to innovate the relationship between humanity and nature, as well as between urbs and civitas. Over the past two centuries, the economic, technological, and social shifts that transformed the world have likewise shaped Venice, which interpreted these trends through its singular lens – rethinking, among other aspects, its relationship with its insular dimension.
This session focuses on one of the report's central themes: tourism, a pivotal topic in civic debate and a key focus of VSF's activities. The event will offer a historical reading of the foundational reasons behind this unbreakable bond between Venice and tourism, supported by unpublished data illustrating its current dimensions, trends, and future prospects.
The presentation will be followed by an open discussion with attendees, continuing the established tradition of events at La Toletta Spazio Eventi.
