News > Agenda Veritas 2026: Interview with VSF Director

The Veritas 2026 Water, Recycling, and Sustainability Agenda (Agenda Acqua, Riciclo e Sostenibilità Veritas 2026), titled “Protection of Waters and Ecosystems: Venice as a Sustainable and Circular City,” is now online. The publication outlines the company's commitment to sustainability, the circular economy, ecological transition, and innovation in environmental services.

In the Orizzonti section, an interview with VSF Director General Alessandro Costa explores the "Venice as a Circular City" model in depth.

“Venice as a circular city is a place where residents, city users, tourists, businesses, and institutions collaborate to build a sustainable balance between tradition, innovation, and environmental respect,” explains Costa, “following a model that places people at the center while integrating responsible practices and sustainability into every aspect of daily life. Essential to this vision are the concept of a zero-waste city and human-scale urban planning, supported by sustainable construction and a local circular economy system.”

The interview builds upon the key takeaways from the VSF “Quaderni” Series publication “Venice as a Circular City” (Venezia città circolare), edited by Silvia Oliva and Anna D’Este for VSF, alongside Federico Colombara and Eleonora Tieri from Boston Consulting Group, which delivers a comparative analysis of circularity levels in Venice and 19 other global cities.
