The "Beyond Li-Ion Batteries 2024" (BeLI24) International Symposium opened today in Padua and runs through September 6, 2024. The event is held under the patronage of VSF.
Alongside industry leaders, Padua is hosting approximately 300 distinguished scientists and researchers from top global laboratories, all dedicated to developing next-generation materials and devices for electrochemical energy storage that go beyond traditional lithium-ion batteries.
This strategic field carries far-reaching impacts across energy storage systems, telecommunications, electric vehicles, and numerous military and aerospace applications.
Serving as one of the conference chairs is Professor Vito Di Noto, a member of the VSF Scientific Committee and Full Professor of Electrochemistry for Energy and Solid-State Chemistry at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Padua. Professor Di Noto is widely recognized as one of the world's leading experts in the field.
A highlight of the symposium will be the honorary degree ceremony for Prof. Dr. Sir Stanley Whittingham, 2019 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, in recognition of his pioneering work in developing lithium-ion batteries.
BeLI24 offers a unique platform to debate and share the latest breakthroughs in advanced battery technologies, with a strong focus on innovative and sustainable materials.
