Venice Sustainability Foundation (VSF) – which launched its dedicated "Social inclusion" project area in October – is serving as a partner in the Civic Crowdfunding project introduced by the Municipality of Venice. Promoted by the local administration, the fundraising scheme operates as an innovative model to mobilize public and private resources while stimulating participation from residents and local organizations. Under the framework, each project must secure at least 50% of its target funding through donations on dedicated platforms, after which the Municipality co-finances the remaining 50% (up to a maximum of 15,000 euros).
On December 11, VSF Social inclusion Project Manager Francesca Ingrosso spoke at the "Infoday: 4th Civic Crowdfunding Call of the Municipality of Venice."
During her presentation, titled "Crowdfunding as a Tool for the Sustainable Development of Venice," the project manager illustrated how the initiative enables citizens and local organizations to take an active role in designing and executing projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life across neighborhoods and vulnerable areas. The program directly reflects VSF's mission by fostering community well-being, social cohesion, and a shared sense of local stewardship.
Francesca Ingrosso concluded by emphasizing that the platform represents a valuable opportunity for Venice, equipping participants with the essential tools and competencies needed to build resilient, long-term sustainable projects.
