Following the initial Startup School phase, which involved over 140 participants, the call for applications for Start Venice UP – in which VSF is a direct partner – has been announced to select the 15 best business ideas to support in their development.

The program, funded by the Veneto Region and coordinated by Confindustria Veneto SIAV, Università Iuav di Venezia, and Strategy Innovation, provides resources, tools, training, and guidance to employees, freelancers, students, and unemployed individuals to develop innovative businesses centered on sustainability, circular economy processes, and responsible resource management.
Selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

Attendance allowance of €6.00/hour for in-person training, subject to a minimum attendance rate of 70% of the total scheduled hours for each intervention in the "Development and Training" phase.

Cost of living/mobility voucher of €500.00/month to cover transportation expenses to Venice and meal costs in the historic center, islands, or estuary for non-residents. This voucher will be disbursed for the three months during which the activities take place.
The initiative is open to:

5 employed individuals across all sectors under applicable legal employment contracts, freelancers, and self-employed workers;

10 unemployed or inactive individuals with a strong entrepreneurial drive within the Venetian area.
Through these project actions, Venice becomes an open-air laboratory for training and launching an ecosystem of innovative businesses and startups capable of supporting the development, testing, and scalability of entrepreneurial ideas and innovative technological solutions to address global challenges starting from a local scale: "Venice HUB."
