News > Sustainability at the Theatre: VSF and The Human Safety Net Organize “The Seasick Pirate”
The show “The Seasick Pirate” (“Il pirata col mal di mare”) took place at the Home of The Human Safety Net as part of the Sustainable Development Festival (Festival dello Sviluppo Sostenibile) promoted by ASviS. The event, part of the “Silent Tales” series – ecological fairy tales by Roerso Mondo – was organized by VSF in collaboration with The Human Safety Net.
Designed for young audiences aged 3 to 12, the performance engaged 170 children from kindergarten, primary, and lower secondary schools in an immersive sensory experience created through audio headphones and imaginary stage settings.
Following the adventures of Riku, a young pirate called to face his limits and fears to achieve his great dream at the heart of the sea, the show weaves themes of courage, marine conservation, and respect for nature into an engaging and sustainable theatrical journey.
The initiative renews the collaboration between VSF and The Human Safety Net on sustainability education for younger generations, which was previously developed through workshops and educational activities during Biennale Architettura 2025 and the Carnevale Internazionale dei Ragazzi.
