News > Sustainable tourism: VSF's contributions in the OTRF Document Area

Launched in 2025, the collaboration between Venice Sustainability Foundation and the Federated Regional Tourism Observatory (Osservatorio del Turismo Regionale Federato – OTRF) has been strengthened by the launch of a section within the Observatory's Document Area dedicated to the Foundation's contributions to sustainable tourism.

The initiative provides public administrators, industry operators, researchers, and stakeholders with studies and in-depth analyses to help understand tourism transformations and the challenges surrounding destination sustainability, with a particular focus on Venice and the surrounding metropolitan and regional territory.

The materials published so far include the VSF “Quaderni” Series, the catalogue for the exhibition “Intelligent Venice. The Oldest City of the Future” – a special project by the Foundation for the 2025 Venice Biennale of Architecture – and the proceedings of the international conference “Smart and Sustainable Tourism: Impacts, Approaches, Solutions,” organized by VSF on December 5, 2025, during the second edition of the Biennale della Sostenibilità.

The new section, which will continue to expand over time, enhances the Foundation's body of knowledge and strengthens its partnership with OTRF by promoting the sharing of studies, data, and perspectives on destination sustainability.
