News > VSF Attends the Veneto Green Procurement Forum

The 8th edition of the Veneto Green Procurement Forum (Forum Acquisti Verdi Veneto) took place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the M9 Museum in Mestre, organized by the Region of Veneto in partnership with VSF.

Following the Circular Venice event on January 29, the Forum represents the second initiative stemming from the collaboration between Regione del Veneto and VSF in the field of sustainability. The initiative holds strategic importance for VSF as it aligns directly with the core themes and goals of its ETE (Energy Transition and Environment) project area, including the circular economy, environmental protection, energy transition, and innovation.

The Veneto Green Procurement Forum serves as the flagship regional event for Green Public Procurement (GPP) policies, projects, goods, and services. Held annually, it convenes key stakeholders involved in sustainable procurement and the ecological transition of production and consumption patterns, fostering dialogue and partnerships among institutions, businesses, and civil society organizations. Specifically, the Forum aims to cultivate a widespread culture of green purchasing, serving as a platform for exchanging best practices to bridge supply and demand for eco-friendly goods and services.

In his welcome address, VSF Director General Alessandro Costa stated: "VSF, through the work of its ETE task force, proposes a new model of sustainability tailored to a unique, articulated, and complex territory, designed through the lens of modernization. This concept is an essential driver of the change we aim to achieve and relies on practical tools such as Green Public Procurement. On these issues, the Region of Veneto proves to be a pioneering authority through initiatives like this Forum."

A key highlight of the Forum was the award ceremony for the Premio Compraverde Veneto 2024, presented in the presence of Regional Assessor for Budget, Planning, and General Affairs Francesco Calzavara, recognizing outstanding businesses and contracting authorities.

The morning session featured contributions from key figures in regional green procurement and sustainable development, including Giulia Tambato (Region of Veneto), Roshan Borsato (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice), Francesco Lembo (ACR+), and Giovanni Bianchi (Edison Next).

The afternoon session, tailored to technical and professional practices, included panel contributions from Silvano Falocco, Rita Bertocco, Antonio Cavallin Toscani, Paolo Giandon, Stefania Tesser, Paola Carron, and Felice Costa.

The Veneto Green Procurement Forum was accredited by the Order of Architects PPC of the Province of Venice and the Order of Engineers of the Metropolitan City of Venice.
