News > VSF Launches Green Procurement Forum Series with Regione del Veneto

Today, September 16, marked the opening of the ninth edition of the Veneto Green Procurement Forum (Forum Acquisti Verdi Veneto), a benchmark event for regional institutions and businesses that promotes integrating environmental, social, and economic criteria into public procurement.
This year’s edition features an innovative format: rather than a single event, it presents a series of traveling meetings dedicated to Green Public Procurement (GPP). As part of its Energy Transition and Environment (ETE) thematic focus, the Foundation collaborated with Regione del Veneto to organize the Forum, which held its inaugural session in Mestre at the M9 – Museum of the 20th Century.
The morning opened with institutional greetings from Roberto Ciambetti, President of the Regional Council of Veneto; Francesco Calzavara, Regional Councillor for Planning, Budget, and General Affairs; and Alessandro Costa, VSF Director General. Costa highlighted how the Forum is a concrete initiative showing how sustainable development criteria can create new economic opportunities, drive the growth of innovative supply chains, and foster a cultural shift toward ESG principles.
The session continued with the presentation of the "Compraverde Veneto 2025" awards, recognizing companies in Veneto that excelled in sustainable innovation. For the first time, regional bodies and publicly owned enterprises were also recognized for effectively applying Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) in their tendering procedures.
Among the awardees, VSF partner CAV received a Certificate of Merit for applying the Ministerial Decree of March 28, 2018, in a major public lighting tender, an important step in highway infrastructure management.
The afternoon training session focused on CAM updates, highlighting Energy Performance Contracts (EPC) and sectoral updates for roads, energy, and events.
The event offered members of trade associations and professional orders (architects and engineers) the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
The series will continue across the regional territory with three additional sessions, offering further opportunities for dialogue and technical analysis:
-
September 19: Vicenza, at Palazzo Thiene Bonin Longare (Confindustria Vicenza).
-
October 8: Belluno, at Villa Doglioni Dalmas (Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti).
-
October 14: Verona, at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters.
