News > Workshop on Sustainable Tourism with Erasmus+

What is tourism, and what does it mean to address its challenges in a city as unique as Venice?

Venice Sustainability Foundation discussed these topics this afternoon with students and teachers from the “Marco Casagrande” Higher Education Institute in Pieve di Soligo, alongside visiting classes from Gothenburg, Sweden, participating in the Erasmus+ program.

VSF project managers welcomed the group for a multi-perspective dialogue, with Francesca Ingrosso and Tabarek Fadhil introducing the Foundation and its mission.

Damiano De Marchi then led the students through an analysis of smart and sustainable tourism, inviting them to share their views and reflections. The discussion served as a springboard to explore how industry challenges can become new management and development strategies for the city, drawing on examples implemented by VSF in recent years.

This valuable opportunity for dialogue underscores the importance of engaging younger generations to view regional transformations and sustainability challenges through a new lens.
