MOSE as a worldwide best practice for protecting cities from rising seas and tidal phenomena is the theme of the meeting opening the Sustainability Biennial. In fact, the MOSE system, accompanied by a wide range of other measures implemented in the lagoon and the islands of the littoral, will effectively defend Venice from October 2020.

On this occasion, the path taken in recent years that has made Venice a safer city and a model for others around the world facing similar problems will be presented.

Other defense systems in Europe and around the world will also be presented, and their operational experience will be discussed in a workshop involving those directly responsible for their management and international experts.

The agenda will be completed with the interventions of authoritative representatives of local, national and European institutions.

Participation in this event is by invitation.

Workshop Circular Economy and Environment

The workshop to be held in the Region on 5 July will aim to present to the Foundation's members the subdivision into more specific sub-areas designed for the Energy Transition and Environment area and will also serve to present the Region's projects for the first sub-area, which focuses on the circular economy and the environment. Members are invited to present their (hypothetical or ongoing) projects on these topics or express their interest in collaborating on the projects presented.
